I learned to woodwork from my father who was a builder/school teacher and built the house I grew up in with my mother. I also learned to weld when I helped him build a 36' Pinky Schooner sailboat in our backyard. I am still fascinated with boats and have built my own 21' sailboat (see Odin under sculpture), a few small dinghies and a 12 foot sailing/row boat.
